Please check the second page of the 2010 Registration Form which is located at the top of the Home Page Menu for the tentative dates and times of play. Complete and confirmed 2010 schedules will not be available until April 2010.
Weather permitting, games will commence the week of April 19th. Parents Please note:
Until we receive all registrations we cannot forecast the outcome of a child's team placement. Once we know the numbers after the registration deadline, we and our volunteers then make up the teams.
We try to compile teams based on last year’s players and requests to remain on the same team but occasionally teams do get displaced.
Although we do our best, there is always a small chance a child ends up without his friends and if he decides not to play soccer because of this,
a refund will be granted less a $25 administration fee.
To our Coaches and Parents: Thank you for your patience and understanding as we embark on a new season of the beautiful game. Your executive director and your volunteers are working tirelessly to organize hundreds of teams and thousands of players. We have received numerous complaints of lopsided scores from parents and coaches in all age groups. While we encourage every team to play to win, we must not forget the mission statement of our association:
KYSA is a volunteer organization that is dedicated to offering youth in Kamloops a positive, fun soccer environment at the recreational and competitive levels with coaches who are dedicated to the players and their development while at the same time promoting sportsmanship and fellowship amongst all its members.
In the interest of sportsmanship and fellowship, we ask that coaches take measures to limit scoring when the goal differential reaches 5 and the game is an obvious mismatch. Some suggestions for coaches include moving strikers on to the back line, requiring five clean touches before scoring, and limiting individual scoring to three goals. To quote our head coach Tom McManus: “The young players have to learn and getting beat every game is not a positive learning process. Neither is winning all the time.” Where there are great disparities in team skill, we will consider relocating players to achieve greater balance.
Thank you, Board of Directors Kamloops Youth Soccer Association
