~ BC SOCCER COACHING COURSES ~ The BC Soccer Association schedules all National Coaching Certification Program clinics in this province, at the request of its member organizations, and appoints qualified instructors.
The KYSA offered two clinics in the early part of 2010: the Community Coach-Youth and the Community Coach-Senior courses certified more than thirty coaches! Generally, these are the coaching development courses offered in Kamloops, usually during January and February, in advance of the coming season…The Community Coach-Children (CC-C). The Community Coach-Children's course is tailored to coaches working with players in the 6 to 10 age groups. The contents of this course are based around the fundamentals of mini-soccer and touch on the following areas: stages of development, basic practice planning, the role of the coach, ethics, safety and liability, review of mini-soccer rules, basic skill development and ample amounts of sample practice sessions. 2011 Clinics TBA.
Free Mini U5-U10 Soccer Clinics
Dallas Park
Kamloops Youth Soccer Association is once again offering free mini sessions to all mini soccer players. The sessions are held at Dallas Park from 10:00 to 12:00 on Saturdays. Tom McManus and his youth coaching staff will be working with all of the young players in different skills. We believe that in order for the children to learn and retain the skills, they should do it in a fun, safe environment.
The players will be broken up into smaller groups of their own age group and will work on the skills lead by the coaches. The last half hour will be small sided games.
The dates for these sessions are:

Come out and have fun and learn more about soccer.

KYSA
The Community Coach-Youth (CC-Y). This course is a perfect opportunity for anyone who is interested in coaching a youth team in 2010, but who has little coaching experience. The CC-Y is an introductory level component of the NCCP, which exists to support and foster the development and education of coaches from the grassroots to elite levels of play throughout the country. The series of clinics within the program serve to prepare coaches to impart their knowledge more efficiently and effectively to the players that they work with on a daily basis. The Community Coach-Senior (CC-S). This is the next level up on the NCCP ladder. The contents of this course are geared towards coaching at a more competitive level of youth soccer and touch on the following areas: stages of development, advanced technical skill development, aspects of coaching, coaching team play (systems/tactics), set plays, coaching the goalkeeper, attacking and defending principles, fitness, physical preparation (warm-up and cool-down), first-aid, ethics, and safety and liability. While coaches can register for the CC-S course before they have taken the CC-Y or CC-C courses, it is recommended that coaches attend the CC-C first, then the CC-Y, then the CC-S. This is particularly relevant if a coach aspires to higher coaching qualifications within the NCCP. To proceed beyond the CC-S level, to a Pre-B License Course, coaches must have taken the CC-C, CC-Y and the CC-S.The cost to attend either the CC-Y and CC-S course is paid for by the participant initially. However, the KYSA reimburses its coaches one-half the registration fee upon completion of the course, and the other half after the participant has coached one of it’s member teams for a full season. Participation in the CC-C is absorbed by the KYSA from the outset.UPCOMING COURSES:
