We can’t wait to see you this SPRING!
Thank you for your patience while we continue to plan for the 2021 KYSA Community Spring League season. Given the current circumstances, we understand that there may be some uncertainty and wanted to provide you with an update on where we stand. Please do reach out to us with any questions you may have. We are happy to help and appreciate any thoughts or feedback you may have at this time.
1) PHO Update
Currently, all soccer activities must be socially distanced (i.e. no contact). We expect these restrictions to be relaxed as we get closer to April but have yet to hear any firm communication from the PHO and viaSport to support this. Below is a link where we have outlined our various planning scenarios and we will continue to provide updates as we receive them.
2) Registration Deadline
We have extended the registration deadline to Friday, March 26th. We will NOT be extending the registration deadline past this point. The feedback we have received indicates that some of our membership wants to ‘wait & see’ before registering. To allow for this, and with an uncertain start date for contact play this is the latest we can wait while still allowing us to organize teams and prepare to play by the middle of April.
3) Scenarios for the Start of Play
With the uncertainty surrounding when contact play will be permitted we are planning for the start of play in one week increments. Once we receive information that the restrictions for youth sport will allow contact play, we will communicate a start date for the season. The earliest that we will begin play is April 12th. Please take a look at the scenarios we have laid out (HERE). Scenarios for the initiation program (U3 to U7) are outlined at the bottom of the document.
