BMO Girls Play BC!

We are very excited to announce that KYSA has been selected to host the BMO Girls Play BC event on September 14th.

BC Soccer will be setting up at McArthur Island Park on Sept 14th to host an on field training session for female youth coaches followed by a practice for female players born in 2013-2018.

NOTE: Registration Deadline is September 1st.

COACHING

Interested young female coaches are invited to participate in a fun day of learning how to coach. The event will be facilitated by a BC Soccer female coach developer, who will support the coaches as they try out their skills in coaching young girls, all delivered in a festival format. Participating coaches will receive support resources prior to the event, and FREE access to a Canada Soccer Grassroots online course.

Eligibility: Priority given to female coaches ages 16-18, but U14 girls or young coaches over 18 are welcome to register as well.

PLAYING

Registered female players will participate on small-sided games and have a fun soccer afternoon free of cost. They will get the chance to engage with young female coaches and hopefully be inspired by them.

Eligibility: Priority given to female players in the Fundamentals age groups (born 2017 or 2018), but other age groups up to U11 are welcome to register!

BMO Girls Play BC! is an innovative girls’ soccer activation and leadership day, engaging girls through coaching and playing opportunities. The program will create a safe and inclusive environment where girls can:

  • Enjoy a social setting;
  • Play the game they love;
  • Learn about coaching;
  • Mentor and mentee with girl coaches and facilitators.

By participating in this program, girls will be inspired to stay in soccer longer. They will also aspire to continue their soccer career in other avenues than simply playing (coaching, refereeing, volunteering, etc.). BC Soccer and BMO are pleased to announce that registrations for the “BMO Girls Play BC!” are open for interested female coaches and players.
